Materia is an American recruiting agency, based in the US with an outstanding portfolio of clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies similar to: Paypal, UniteUS, 2K Games, EVgo…etc.

What’s interesting about this brand is that it’s founded by a very young team; yet, a talented & professional one with a solid experience built at Silicon Valley. They have a unique vision on the scene of recruiting, where they aim to move away from the traditional perspective of the industry and introduce a efficient, digitally-driven hiring process. This entailed creating a tech look & feel for the brand while focusing on relaying the essence of the business.

The Concept

This direction is inspired by the letter “M”; derived from “Materia”.
The chosen letter illustration is fluffly to reflect a friendly look & feel that is close to people.

Waved lines are embedded in the structure of the “M” to add more depth to the letter & to have a modern display.

A circle is added above the “M” for the following reason…

Inspired by the meaning of the word “Materia” in latin, the design embeds hidden figures & shapes of people icons which are symbolically representing candidates.

From another angle, we can also see a professional employee designed at the centre of the logo, representing a recruiter (Materia Talent).

The Icon

What’s unique about this logo, is that in addition to having a very modern display, it embeds so many meanings & richness beyond those wavy lines. It represents “Materia Talent’s” specialty in connecting candidates with employers. It’s also designed to have the main letter of the company at the heart of the logo.

Our brand typefaces is Helvetica Neue,it is to be used for all our printed communications and online whenever possible.

Color palette

Primary Colours
Our colour palette is an essential tool in building a distinctive and recognisable brand identity.
The brand will rely mainly on the RGB colors as it has a vibrant display. Yet, when it comes to print it is recommended to use PANTONE colors to reflect the closest brightness scheme to the original colors, this usually varies based on the material we’re printing on. We may need to use CMYK colors also for print which will display the least brightness.

PRIMARY
This logo is the preferred option to be used whenever possible. It is always used on white Background.

REVERSED
The reversed version is to be used on a colored or gradient backgrounds.

Our brand logo should only be reproduced from master artwork files and should not be redrawn, reset or altered in any way.

The master artwork files are available in various electronic formats, for both Mac and PC.

Clear Space
To ensure prominence and legibility, the logo is always surrounded by an area of clear space which remains free of other design elements, such as type and other logos.This is also the minimum distance the logotype can be placed from the edges of the page.The construction of the exclusion zone is based on the height of the ‘a’ from the Materia logo.The clear space is implemented from the left and right edges of the logo and from the icon height and baseline of the logo on top and bottom.

Brand Icons

The Materia icons are elegant and efficient in their design. They should always be used in a single colour and share the same line width. To ensure consistency all icons must be used in outline format.
