We have noticed an increasing spread in conspiracy theories and false information in relation to COVID-19; notable examples at the time included false health advices and tips shared on social media and private chats, as well as conspiracy theories such as the origin of bat soup and the outbreak being planned with the participation of the Pirbright Institute; adding the conspiracy theories about bioweapons and the link to 5G technology.

On the local level; people were spreading fake news about the patients and the government procedures, many rumours destroyed families and planted fear in people’s hearts. Even the government put strict laws and measures to follow the rumour-spreaders and punish them.   

90% of people use their mobiles to spread rumours, they send texts or share news on social media platforms without checking how true they are. So I Worked on a post with a simple idea showing the mobile is wearing a mask to symbolise protection, asking people to safeguard themselves and others from spreading rumours because they are as dangerous as spreading the virus itself.
